Dat Dame Dog!

This morning happened to be a very windy morning, and the gate leading from the side yard to the rest of the property blew open again, and Tat got out. No biggie. She just runs off into the woods and comes back after you call her a few (dozen) times. I and my parents started calling her. After about five minutes, Tat still hadn't come back. I went into the woods, Mom stayed up by the house, and Dad and our landlady Melanie set out in their cars to patrol the neighborhood. Dad later came back with our dog. He said he'd found her at the corner of our street, but the first time he'd passed by, she wasn't there. Tat had been gone for around fifteen minutes, a record for her; Dobermans have to be with their "people" or they're not happy. I'm just grateful my baby's back now.

The Adventure Begins: Tat Comes Home

My beloved Tat came home today. For those of you who don't know, Tat is my new puppy. A Doberman puppy. She proved to be too much for her previous owner, who lived right on a busy highway. So, I and my family have adopted her. Her name was originally Roxie, but it has been officially changed to Tat, short for Tatania, as is explained in the blog title. Today, she's chased a grasshopper, discovered her favorite toy (a stuffed puppy I gave her), barked at her reflection in a mirror, gone for a walk, been partially crate trained, and much, much more. Tomorrow, the real adventure begins!
